About Amber
Amber is a sweet, gentle Yorkshire Terrier currently fostered in Baton Rouge, LA. She’s about nine years old and has spent her recent years with her sister, Emma, who she’d love to be adopted with—but she could be placed separately if she has a calm canine companion. Amber thrives on attention, giving eager kisses and rolling over for belly rubs. She’s submissive but not a pushover and will assert herself if another dog is out of line. She’s highly obedient, responds quickly to her name, and is happiest when pleasing her people. Amber is not suitable for homes with cats; she has a classic terrier drive and will chase anything from cats to butterflies. She isn’t suited for households with young children or high activity, as loud noises can spook her. She’s good with other mellow, calm dogs her size and enjoys finding the coziest spot in the house to sleep, whether it’s in bed with her humans or on the sofa. Grooming isn’t her favorite, but she tolerates baths and weekly blow-dries well. She uses pee pads but also goes outside. Amber’s foster family describes her as dainty, affectionate, and always wagging. She’s looking for a home that will embrace her gentle temperament, offer healthy food, nightly massages, and a safe yard to explore—plus a family who will let her give all the kisses she wants.
