About Huck
Huck, also known as Huckleberry or Chuckles, is an 18-month-old English Pointer with a zest for life and boundless energy. Living up to his nickname, he is an adventurous, athletic companion who thrives outdoors—chasing after toys, playing fetch, and exploring every corner of his environment. Inside, Huck can be a whirlwind, darting from playtime with his people and wrestling with dog friends to relaxing on a cozy bed. He gets along well with other dogs, though his play style can be rough and exuberant. Huck has not been cat tested and, with his strong prey drive, should not go to a home with cats. Smart and eager to please, Huck displays solid recall even with distractions, and is crate-trained and food-motivated. He’s still perfecting some important indoor manners: house training is ongoing, leash skills need work, and counter-surfing remains a tempting hobby for him. His adopter needs to be patient and confident with high-energy, field-bred Pointers, and able to guide him with consistent training and structure. For now, Huck isn’t recommended for homes with young children due to his rambunctious play. Sensitive to certain noises, he will flourish in a household that can provide gentle support as he builds confidence. Huck is up to date on vaccinations and preventatives and has been neutered. He might make a great hunting companion, though he hasn’t yet been exposed to gunfire. If you’re an active, experienced dog person ready for an energetic partner, Huck is waiting in Bridgeton, NJ. Transport can be arranged for approved homes within roughly 1,500 miles. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
