About Mac

This could be the start of something paw-some. If you’re searching for an adult dog with a lively, puppy-like spirit, Mac might be the perfect companion. Formerly from a Georgia hunting plantation, Mac is looking for his true calling as a cherished family member. Now fostered in Missouri, he has quickly learned how to handle stairs, use a doggy door, and is house trained for the most part—though he’s still perfecting the art of always peeing outside. Curious and energetic, Mac thrives on affection and needs to be kenneled when his people aren’t around, as he sometimes can't resist a little mischief. At night, he sleeps soundly in his crate, since being in a home is just so exciting for him. Mac adores people of all ages, including children, and would love a home with lots of human attention. He’s adaptable enough to live as a solo dog or with bigger canine siblings, but small pets may prove too tempting for his playful nature, so homes with cats or small dogs aren’t recommended. Walks and backyard play are highlights of his day, and he enjoys soft toys and any chance for affection—especially neck scratches! While he doesn’t know commands yet, he’s eager to learn and would enjoy obedience classes to channel his energy. Mac is a healthy, strong pup at 55 pounds, neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. He’s not picky about food and is most excited about finding a loving family willing to teach him and shower him with attention. Transport may be available to approved homes within roughly 1,500 miles of Missouri. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
