AvailableAlexander is a young, large mixed-breed dog—a blend of Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd—currently in Richmond, VA. His playful temperament makes him a great fit for families looking for a lively, loving companion.
About Alexander
Alexander, or "Alex," started life as a scrappy, energetic pup and quickly grew into a striking, long-legged young dog. His medium-length coat is white with hints of cream and tricolor, and it's manageable compared to some, though that’s a matter of perspective with a Great Pyrenees mix. DNA tests show Alex is mostly Great Pyrenees and part Anatolian Shepherd, with a sprinkle of chihuahua and livestock guardian in his genes—a family tree that's as interesting as his personality. His bobbed tail, a genetic trait, wags furiously when he’s happy and adds to his unique charm. Alex is clever, full of personality, and quick to make an impression on everyone at the rescue. He loves sticking out his front paw to get attention and never turns down a walk. He gets a bit excitable at first but quickly settles in, making him a perfect hiking or walking companion. He craves space and fun; a big, securely fenced yard is on his wish list for daily zoomies and playtime. Alex gets along well with other dogs and is great with kids but will need a family ready for his energy and occasional pickiness with playmates. Born in early November, Alex is an affectionate, eager companion and looks quite dashing in a Christmas parade. If you’re nearby Richmond, VA, and can give him the active lifestyle and room he needs, he’s waiting for just the right fit. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
