About Gracie
Gracieās story took a sharp turn in August 2024, when she and her siblings arrived scrawny and sick at a Virginia shelter, then moved on to Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue. She was the underdog: losing fur, battling infections, shut down emotionally. That changed once Gracie felt the care and patience of her rescue team. Now, sheās sporting a full coat and sharp spirit, looking nothing like the dog she once was. DNA doesnāt lieāGracieās mostly Great Pyrenees with a side of Maremma. Petite for her type and decked out in a gray and white coat, she stands out. Sheās crate trained and likes to think of her crate as her own private den. These days youāll find her out exercising, cruising along with her dog buddy Cole, mixing play with plenty of downtime. Sheās still young at heart and not above being a little bossy when she needs a break. Last year, Gracie came in heartworm-positive. Sheās on a slow-kill treatment and you wouldnāt guess anything was wrongāshe keeps up with other dogs and enjoys her days. Sheāll need a home with a securely fenced yardāno exceptions. Great Pyrenees and their mixes arenāt for everyone, so itās important youāre ready for the commitment. Gracie is looking for family within a few hoursā drive of Richmond, VA who will give her the stability she missed early on. Sheās ready for her new chapter. Adoption process starts with a clickāsheās waiting.
