AvailableAbout Ridge In Va
Meet Ridge – Your gentle giant in the making! Ridge came into rescue alongside his five siblings from a farm where they received little attention, and since then, he’s shown just how special he is. Affectionately known as “Blue Ridge Mountains”—a nod to both his blue collar and his big, lovable presence—Ridge is an inquisitive, happy, and friendly boy who is truly an all‑around sweetheart. He has a joyful personality and loves being around people, especially children. For a puppy his age, Ridge already has an excellent foundation. He is crate trained, sleeps and eats in his crate, and is quite content having his own cozy space. He is also almost perfectly housebroken, making the transition into a new home much smoother. Ridge gets along well with other dogs and will require a home with another large breed dog. He also needs a 5-foot securely fenced yard, as befits a growing Great Pyrenees who will need room to stretch his legs safely. While he hasn’t been tested with cats, he takes corrections well and is expected to do fine with other household pets. If you’re looking for a loving, well‑mannered puppy who bonds with adults, adores kids, and thrives with canine companions, Ridge may be the perfect match. This little gentleman is a true bundle of joy and is ready to bring love, loyalty, and happiness into a forever home of his own. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
