About Jabarkus

Jabarkus came into care after his previous owner passed away, arriving with a group of eight other dogs. He’s a 14-year-old Chihuahua, small at just 12 lbs, who prefers life at a mellow pace. Jabarkus is gentle and craves affection, often nudging a hand for more pets, and is happy to be picked up or cuddled. His little walk has plenty of charm, but he moves slowly and likes the safety of his stroller for outings after a few laps in the park. Loud noises can startle him, but he calms quickly with reassurance. He’s sharing his foster home with Demitri, a friend from their original pack. The two love to snuggle and groom each other, finding a lot of comfort in company. Jabarkus uses pee pads reliably and has developed flexible nighttime habits—sometimes sleeping through, sometimes waking for a drink or bathroom break, usually settling in easily again. He manages alone at home for a couple of hours, especially when he has Demitri with him. He's not keen on car rides right now, but he’s made visible progress in other areas, so that could change with time and patience. A healthy appetite rounds out his simple needs, and he’s content sharing food. Jabarkus thrives on gentle attention and a patient approach. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
