About Squeak

Squeak has experienced more upheaval than most cats ever should. She first landed in the shelter four years ago after her original person couldn’t care for her any longer, arriving withdrawn and quick to hiss or growl. Over time, she allowed a select few volunteers into her circle, proving herself fiercely devoted but candid about her boundaries. When she was finally adopted by a woman with a knack for loving complicated cats, Squeak blossomed into a clever companion who enjoyed sleeping next to her person and even showing off tricks for treats. Unfortunately, Squeak’s stability didn’t last; her adopter’s failing health brought her back to the shelter. She’s slowly rebuilt her trust with a handful of the volunteers, showing how much she still enjoys a good brushing session, laser toys, and a familiar hand. Squeak will thrive in a quiet home as an only cat—with no children around and humans who move at her pace. If you’re patient and appreciate a cat who picks her people carefully, Squeak will eventually let you in and reward you with true loyalty. She’s best for adopters who understand that winning her trust is a process, not a guarantee on day one. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
