Truman is a medium-sized Terrier mix who’s already seen his share of hardship—rescued from a crated life in a cold basement and brought to safety. Now, he’s showing everyone his true colors: a happy dog who delights in playtime, loves a good cuddle, and famously gives big, generous hugs. Truman does well with some dogs but needs a slow, thoughtful introduction. A confident, dog-friendly companion in the home would help him brush up on his social skills. He gets along with cats, too. For children, Truman’s best fit is a home with kids over 12. A completely enclosed, physically fenced yard is a firm must—he needs space to run and unwind. Truman is neutered, current on vaccines, on heartworm prevention, and does well in his crate. Potty training is still a work in progress. He thrives when around people who’ll spoil him and include him on adventures. Adopters need to live within an hour of Birmingham, MI, and same-day adoptions aren’t available.
