Despite everything she's endured, she greets each day with a wagging tail and bright, hopeful eyes. She completed professional training and was one of the top students in her class — meaning she already has excellent manners and loves learning. She enjoys her daily walks, does wonderfully with other dogs, and truly thrives on human companionship. In her foster home, she spends time with a young human friend and shows just how gentle, patient, and affectionate she can be. Maxima bonds deeply with her people and is happiest when she feels included in everyday life. She would be a wonderful fit for an active family or individual who enjoys walks, playtime, and building a strong connection with their dog. Maxima's Ideal Home At about 18 inches tall, Maxima is compact and adaptable — a great fit for apartments, condos, or homes with limited space, as long as she receives regular exercise and engagement. She would love: A family that includes her in daily activities An adopter who appreciates her training and continues reinforcing it A home with respectful children (10+) A dog sibling — or she would also thrive as the center of attention Most importantly, Maxima needs a stable, committed forever home where she will be cherished as a true family member. Maxima's Rescue Story Maxima's life changed overnight when her owner passed away. Instead of being given time to adjust or grieve, she was taken to a dog pound by relatives who intended to euthanize her. Thankfully, her rescuer happened to be there that same day and offered to take her instead. And just like that, her life was saved. When she first arrived in rescue, Maxima was deeply fearful. She barked at dogs and people alike, overwhelmed and unsure of the world around her. After losing her person, it's believed she experienced mistreatment that left emotional scars. Her rehabilitation took time, patience, and the guidance of a professional trainer in Colima, Mexico. Slowly, she learned to trust again. Step by step, she discovered that she was safe. Today, Maxima is confident, loving, and ready to belong to a family again. Her journey shows incredible resilience — she simply needed someone to believe in her. Ready to Welcome Maxima?
