About Piper

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Piper! She's a playful and sweet 2-year-old girl with Doberman and German Shepherd mix heritage—truly the best of both breeds. Life hasn't always been kind to her, as she was adopted as a puppy and then sadly abandoned, but she has proven to be incredibly resilient. After being rescued when she was alone and frightened, Piper is now thriving in the caring hands of Furever Tails Animal Rescue and is eager to find a family who will love her forever. Though Piper has a clean bill of health, she's on a journey to gain some much-needed weight. She's currently around 41 pounds and is working toward her healthier size of about 60 pounds with the help of slow, steady meals in foster care. Kennel time is a breeze for her; she doesn't chew or make messes and is fully house trained. Piper has a goofy, affectionate personality. She loves playing with other dogs and adores tennis balls, preferring to turn "fetch" into a fun chase. Since she's tall and bouncy, a home with children comfortable with enthusiastic play would be best. Piper needs a fully fenced yard or a highly active person who enjoys long walks, as apartment or condo living isn't suitable for her. Tethering is not an option for her comfort and safety. Piper will thrive with outgoing, active adopters who embrace her energy and playful spirit. All she wants is understanding, kindness, and a promise to keep her forever—she's ready to give her heart to a family that will do the same. Fun fact: With her birthday on December 13, Piper is a Sagittarius—a sun sign known for being adventurous and optimistic, which fits her perfectly! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
