🐶 Basics ● Theodora! Also responds to Theo and Mama :) ● Age / Size: 8 years, around 10 lbs! ● Rescued in Texas 💛 Personality Snapshot ● Describe in 3–5 words: Spunky, adaptable, sweet, curious, joyful. ● Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Low to moderate! She enjoys lounging, but gets very excited for her walks and loves little bouts of playing. ● More people‑oriented or independent? I’d say people oriented! She’s like my little shadow around the house, but can also be independent when needed. ● How do they handle new situations? She’s adapted very well! She likes to conduct a thorough investigation of the space. 🐕 Social & Home Life ● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? Haven’t seen her with kids, but she’s been great with meeting new people. ● How are they with other dogs? On the street she mostly ignores other dogs, but can be a bit nervous around larger dogs. She’s adapted really well with my larger dog after a slow introduction - now, they happily go on walks together and lounge on the couch. She is a strong boundary setter but definitely not an escalator! ● Cats or other animals (if known)? Great with cats. Mostly ignores them, but lets them get up in her face to sniff her and sometimes gives them a little kiss on the nose. ● Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: Unsure about guests! When left alone she can be a little devious, even just when out of eyesight. She’s very curious and food motivated, and can jump very high! 🎓 Training & Manners ● Leash skills: Doesn’t have great leash skills, but she’s very responsive to corrections and redirections. ● Commands known (if any): Sit, spin (she’ll jump in the air and spin!), she will also run and jump into your arms if you pat your knees and call for her 🌞 Daily Life ● Typical day with you: So far we’ve been taking it slow! Going on frequent walks but resting up otherwise. She gets very excited for walks and food time, and once we’re back from a walk, runs right back over to curl up on the couch. ● Exercise needs: Not super high, she’s relatively low energy but will let you know when she needs to get energy out. ● Favorite activities or toys: So far, napping and walks! She hasn’t been super into toys, but will play with one for a bit if you show it off to her. 🏡 Ideal Home ● Only dog / With dog / Either: I think she’d do really well with another small dog! She can be playful, and has a hard time understanding how to play with a bigger dog, but seems to like having him around. ● Good fit for apartment living? I think so! ● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): I think she’s super adaptive. She’s done well at my more calm apartment, and also at work with me at a busy hair salon. ● What kind of adopter would be the best match? Someone who can spend a good bit of time with her! She seems very happy to come along on adventures and errands. Someone who will definitely let her snuggle up in bed - she loves to crawl under the blankets. Also patience! She’s not always the most responsive to feedback, and it can take a bit of repetition. 💙 Foster Note I love how ridiculously sweet and happy about life she is. She is so excited to go wherever you’re going and do whatever it is you’re doing. She’s clearly very smart, and it’s a joy to uncover what she knows! She can do a few little tricks, and seems happy to show them off whenever she can. I really love the moments that she crawls over to my chest and then flips on her back for a belly rub. She also loves being carried around like a baby, belly up and cradled. She also does this very sweet thing where she burrows under the blankets when you get in bed. **Theodora previously tested positive for heartworm and was treated before she left Texas** INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
