About Biscuit

🐶 Basics • Biscuit • Age / Size: 9yo 13 lbs • Surrendered in Texas after previous owner passed away šŸ’› Personality Snapshot • Describe in 3–5 words: Funny little goblin with some sass • Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Moderate • More people‑oriented or independent? Both, depending on his mood • How do they handle new situations? He needs time to adjust and can be very hot and cold, he’s making progress everyday though! šŸ• Social & Home Life • How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? Biscuit warms up in a few minutes and takes his time getting to know people. I would recommend he not be placed with kids under 12 as he doesn't like to share toys! • How are they with other dogs? Good! We’ve only met them on the street and our building but he’s been great. • Cats or other animals (if known)? Cat tested in Texas and good • Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: Nervous, but he warms up. šŸŽ“ Training & Manners • Potty trained? Yes! Fantastic at it • Crate trained? Yes! • Leash skills: Excellent!! Loves his walks • Commands known (if any): He can do sit! Very food motivated šŸŒž Daily Life • Typical day with you: Morning walk, breakfast/meds, back to bed for a couple of hours, walk, playtime with lunch, relaxing on the couch for the evening, dinner/meds, evening walk, bed time in the crate • Exercise needs: not much!! He’s a couch guy who likes his average walk • Favorite activities or toys: He loves his lampchop! He’s EXCELLENT at fetch and will bring things right back to you! 🌱 Growth Areas • Anything they’re still working on? He can be food aggressive. A slow feeder helps him not just inhale his meals. I think he would respond best as a single pet for now while he adjusts to all of this change. • What helps them succeed? We are rewarding positive touch, we are giving him treats while petting him to give a positive association. We are giving him space and letting him come to us. This has been a big part of his progress. I am rewarding him for touch when eating with praise as he will tolerate it. šŸ” Ideal Home • Only dog / With dog / Either: only dog but potentially either • Good fit for apartment living? Perfect! • Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): calm to moderate! • What kind of adopter would be the best match? Someone who wants a well trained, hilarious dog who is willing to meet him where he’s at and work with on his behavioral and reactionary issues with him. He really does not need a crazy amount of training, just consistency and time, and probably to be the only pet. šŸ’™ Foster Note He’s very silly. He will rub his whole body along the couch and snort at us because he wants treats. He will also ā€œdigā€ on the couch before he lays down and we call him ā€œDJ Biscuitā€ INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? To adopt Biscuit, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt.truenorthrescue@gmail.com to follow up on your application. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE.
