About Yogi

🐶 Basics Yogi (nickname: yo-yo or yogs) Age / Size: 2 years old, 15lbs Rescued in Texas šŸ’› Personality Snapshot Describe in 3–5 words: affectionate, laid back, gentle, social, go with the flow Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): low More people‑oriented or independent? People-oriented How do they handle new situations? Cautious but trusting and eager to please šŸ• Social & Home Life How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? Great with new people, unsure about kids under 10 (have not met yet) How are they with other dogs? Friendly with other dogs (slight resource guarding with toys that we are working on) Cats or other animals (if known)? Unknown Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: sleeps when left alone, friendly to all guests and loves attention, snuggles, and being held šŸŽ“ Training & Manners Potty trained? Mostly! Slept in until 10am then went potty outside :) Crate trained? Anxious in the crate but we are working on it every day Leash skills: walks slowly, no pulling, learning to walk in a straight direction Commands known (if any): working on ā€˜sit’ and picking up quickly! šŸŒž Daily Life Typical day with you: wakes up when we wake up, quick potty outside, breaky, longer walk in afternoon (still short because he likes to come home and snuggle), hangout with foster sister, dinner, lots more snuggles, and bed time Exercise needs: he’s been doing great with 4-5 short walks a day. Building up his confidence outside :) Favorite activities or toys: he’s a little confused when it comes to toys but so far has liked a rubber Kong ball and a plushy toy! 🌱 Growth Areas Anything they’re still working on? Sharing toys and crate anxiety What helps them succeed? Very treat motivated šŸ” Ideal Home Only dog / With dog / Either: he would thrive as an only dog as he loves to be the center of attention but also gets along great with other dogs Good fit for apartment living? Does great in an apartment Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): calm or moderate What kind of adopter would be the best match? Someone who loves a good tv binge watching session on the couch and wants a buddy to binge with them! Someone who is okay with having a little shadow. Someone who encourages him with positive reinforcement and patience because he has SO much potential! šŸ’™ Foster Note I love that Yogi is always up for whatever the day brings! He is an easy going guy that can snuggle all day on the couch or entertain a group of people. He will make a great companion because he is so eager to please and genuinely LOVES people. I was surprised at how quickly he trusted me and my husband and adjusted to our lifestyle. After one night he was cool with sleeping in until almost 11am with us šŸ˜‚ Something else an adopter should know is this little guy loves his breakfast and dinner! He thrives with a consistent schedule. He isn’t comfortable going potty on the sidewalk yet, he prefers a grassy area. He is growing into his personality more and more everyday. And he deserves the world!
