Mazie is a 3.5-year-old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog/Lab mix with a personality just as charming as her looks. Her beautiful tricolor coat, adorably pointy ears, and the cutest little underbite (which sometimes lets her teeth poke out of her mouth!) give her a wonderfully endearing expression that’s guaranteed to make you smile. For the first three years of her life, Mazie lived in a home, but she was sadly surrendered at a southern shelter when her owner moved. We were lucky enough to transport her up here for a second chance. While she’s handled the transition well, shelter life really doesn’t suit her gentle, people-loving nature, and we would love to see her back where she belongs—in a home as soon as possible. Mazie has a beautifully balanced personality and seems to match the energy around her. If things are lively and dogs are playing, she happily jumps into the fun and romps around the yard. When the environment is calm, she’s perfectly content to settle down and nap at your feet. She loves playing with other dogs and has a relaxed, non-dominant play style, which makes her an easygoing companion for most canine friends. She also enjoys toys and will happily bring one over if she’s hoping you’ll play a little tug with her. People are truly Mazie’s favorite thing. She adores attention—pets, kisses, and snuggles are always welcome. If her people are doing something, you can bet Mazie wants to be right there alongside them, happy just to be part of the moment. Mazie is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, and she already has her basic manners down (though she may jump a little when she’s excited). She does excellent with other dogs, cats, and children, making her a wonderful fit for many types of households.
