Pat is a 2-year-old Retriever/Husky mix with fluffy black and tan fur and the kind of striking blue eyes that stop people in their tracks. This handsome guy came to us as a local surrender after spending much of his time confined to a kennel with very little human interaction. Thankfully, Pat hasn’t let those unfortunate beginnings dim his spirit one bit — he’s ready to wiggle his fluffy butt straight into a forever home. Despite his past, Pat is a very chill, easygoing boy. He’s not one to get riled up easily and often prefers to sit back and observe before jumping into the action. Around other dogs, he tends to watch and figure things out first. He’s definitely interested in playing, but it seems like he may not have had many opportunities to learn how before now — so there’s a bit of a learning curve. The good news? He’s already starting to get the hang of it! True to his Husky roots, Pat has a slightly independent streak, but he also thrives with clear leadership and guidance. He’s incredibly intelligent and picks up on cues and commands quickly. Once he understands what you’re asking, he’s eager to do the right thing. What he really craves is companionship — someone to be his person and include him as part of the pack. Pat is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making the transition into a home much smoother. He does well with other dogs and kids, and he may also do well with cats as long as he’s properly introduced and shown their boundaries.
