Hector
AvailableHector is a young, large mixed breed dog—a black Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer blend—with a short coat. He is neutered and vaccinated, and is fully house trained. He is currently in Detroit, MI, waiting for his new family.
About Hector
Hector is a 60-pound blur of black fur, enthusiasm, and tennis ball ambition, with absolutely zero spatial awareness and not a trace of regret about it. He will barrel straight into your knees, gaze up at you adoringly, and make you forget any lingering aches. His foster says he might be the best dog she's ever met, and honestly, it's hard to argue. Once his iconic entrance is out of the way, Hector shifts into roommate mode: quiet, low-key, and deeply devoted to fetch and snuggling. He loves his walks for sniffing every possible thing—exercise is for fetch, not the daily stroll. Hector takes fetch seriously: two or three intense sessions a day, twenty to thirty minutes each. He never barks, doesn't destroy, and has a calm, clean presence that fits perfectly in an apartment, condo, or townhouse. He gets along well with other dogs and children, and he greets everyone with full-body affection (and the volume to match). House trained and crate trained, he can hold it for long stretches and communicates his needs clearly. Hector knows basic commands, is working on a couple more, and is handling food guarding with ongoing, steady guidance. He's the kind of dog who asks for little but gives a lot in return.
