About Sammy
Meet Sammy, your new best friend! Sammy is a big-hearted, friendly boy with an endless love for meeting new people. He’s happiest getting belly rubs and will nudge closer for more, letting out a contented little grumble if you hit the right spot. There’s a good chance he’ll sneak in a kiss too. Sammy gets excited and can jump up to greet visitors, so calm introductions are best. Kids with large-dog experience are fine for him. Around the house, Sammy is both house and crate trained. He’s still figuring out leash manners and sometimes pulls when something interesting catches his eye, but he’s eager to please and learns quickly when treats are involved. Toys are his obsession—he can’t resist chewing or “de-fluffing” a stuffed animal. If he grabs something he shouldn’t, a toy swap will usually do the trick. Sammy likes puppy playmates but is reserved with adult dogs and prefers being the only dog in the home as he continues building confidence after some tough times. At his core, he wants what every dog wants: to curl up on the couch with his favorite person. Sammy just finished heartworm treatment and is ready for a soft place to land—ideally your lap.
