Meet Dot! This precious girl is proof that a rough start doesn’t determine your future. At about one year old and weighing around 36 pounds, Dot came from a property where she lived exclusively outdoors. After having a litter of four puppies (all adopted!), it's finally her turn to experience the joys of life. When Dot first entered her foster home, she was timid, understandably unsure of this strange new world. But this brave little lady has been blossoming every day. She has learned to sit, uses a doggy door, and is quickly mastering house and crate training. Her leash manners are impressive—she walks so well that her foster brother seems to lag behind on their neighborhood walks! Although Dot is still cautious around new people and situations, gentle encouragement and praise have helped her build confidence. Once Dot feels safe with you, be prepared for a loyal little companion. She loves to stay close and will patiently wait for you if you step away. Currently living with young, energetic children, she handles their noise and antics with grace. Dot has always cohabited with other dogs and is discovering the joy of playtime with her spirited one-year-old foster brother. She’d thrive with a canine sibling of any size, though she can also be perfectly content as an only pet. Dot is learning about living with cats and may adapt well with proper introductions. Though Dot is still a bit underweight and her itchy skin is healing, she’s well on her way to becoming the happy, healthy girl she was meant to be. Watching her transform in foster care has been incredibly rewarding. Dot is looking for a patient family willing to introduce her to the world at her own pace, celebrating all her little victories.
