About Colt

Colt and Linda are a devoted bonded pair looking for a home willing to welcome them both. They lost their previous person unexpectedly and have been together through everything, offering each other emotional support while staying healthy and well-groomed. Colt is an 11-year-old Norwegian Elkhound/shepherd mix with a big personality, shorter legs, and youthful energy — he’s eager to engage, responds to training, and still approaches the world with curiosity. Linda, a 3-year-old cattle dog mix, brings joy and playfulness to the pair, loves meeting new people, and looks just like a puppy at heart despite her size. Both are about 45 lbs and happiest together. These two thrive on adventure, pets, and cuddles. They know their routines, are house trained, friendly, and affectionate, but will need consistent engagement so they can bond with their new family. They’re good with kids and other dogs, but not cats or small animals. They’re non-reactive on leash, get compliments for their calm walking, and love playing in water. Classic northern breed traits show up—they can be vocal and known to “sing;” they’re also skilled at escaping, so secure, tall, non-climbable fencing or leash-only walks are essential until solid recall is built. Their new home should offer regular adventures, secure spaces, patience as they settle in, and the understanding that they are emotionally attached to each other. Their adoption includes group training classes, making the transition smoother for everyone. Colt and Linda are ready to bring their warmth, loyalty, and character to a home willing to keep them safe and together. Your new best friend is just one click away.
