About Gus
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Gus is a spirited, affectionate adult Basset Hound who has truly blossomed in his foster home since being surrendered due to his prior owner's illness. Over time, Gus has overcome significant resource guarding issues and now enjoys mealtimes in his own space—he’s made tremendous progress but still appreciates feeding routines that help him feel secure. While Gus can be wary, especially around men and when food is involved, he’s shown he can get along well when slowly introduced and with continued support. He loves to play enthusiastically with his cat and canine siblings, doing zoomies around the house and enjoying ranch life’s sights and sounds (including a good bark at the cows and traffic). Gus would thrive best with a gentle dog companion and a home where patience, compassion, and continued socialization are at the forefront, ideally with a woman or an understanding couple. Stubbornness is part of his Basset charm and will be appreciated by those who value this breed’s unique personality! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
