About Sunbeam

Trash Cat has done it We've found the one orange cat that seems to have a few brain cells! If you've wanted an orange cat that be a little smart, you need to meet Sunbeam! Sunbeam is a sweet, shy-at-first, but ultimately friendly young man who has a beautiful, thick orange coat that he loves having groomed. He enjoys brushes, as well as scratches, especially down his back and under his chin. He often enjoys it so much that he purrs excessively loudly and begins to drool. Sunbeam is still unsure about most toys and prefers to watch others play, but he does get excited by wands, catnip, and laser pointers. He's pretty content lying in a soft bed that allows him some privacy and a nice window so he can people watch from a distance. He requested a home with no cleaning items (especially the mean sweeper!) or trash cans/bag, as he's a scaredy cat, but he'll let it slide if it means you'll give him a snack after. The way to win Sunbeam over is with wet food and Churus, which helps him build trust in new people. Sunbeam takes a while to get used to new environments and people, and he would do best initially in a small setting like one specific room where he can get used to his patient caregivers before spending time in the entire home. He is friendly with all cats but tends to be quite passive around his feline friends. He would really benefit from another playful, gentle friend to show him the ropes and encourage his comfort in a new home. While Sunbeam will take a some time to adjust to a home, he clearly longs to have a couch and caregiver to lounge with. He'd likely prefer a calm, relaxing environment with respectful adults and kiddos. Sunbeam is estimated to be almost three years old. He is neutered, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Please apply for this orange anomaly today!
