Turtle came from a difficult background with an elderly caregiver and a semi-hoarding environment, so she remains aloof and prefers to observe humans from a distance. If you catch her attention, she might follow you from room to room but prefers to keep her space. Despite her curiosity, a long stare might make her scurry away to one of her safe spots. Turtle shows interest in people by rubbing her scent on objects they’ve just touched, and on rare occasions she might curl up at your feet (or sneak onto your lap) for a quick nap—though any sudden movement will have her vanishing instantly. The perfect home for Turtle is an adult household (or one with respectful, older children) that gives her the time and space to come out of her shell at her own pace. She has a fun, playful streak—entertaining herself with scratchers, felt toys, and enjoying high perches or sunny window sills where she can bird-watch to her heart’s content. Turtle’s favorite indulgences include soft armchairs, cozy tent beds, sunbathing, rolling in catnip, the occasional treat (especially Churus), and offering her classic stink-eye from across the room. During her time in foster care, Turtle has blossomed as an independent cat. She is content as a solo companion, but also coexists peacefully with other respectful cats after a slow introduction.
