Sapphire is a beautiful 3-year old female Pit Bull Terrier mix who was surrendered by her tearful owner on November 26, 2025 (through no fault of Sapphire or her owner) but because she was not permitted to have Sapphire in the current residence. Sapphire has a white short smooth coat sprinkled with subtle black spots, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, and large semi-erect ears. Sapphire has a large black patch above her left eye which gives her the appearance of having penciled in a large 'bushy' eyebrow over that eye (and must have used all of the black brush since there is no eyebrow above her right eye (smile). This little sweetheart may look familiar to our HSOV fans/followers. Sapphire originally came to our shelter on May 30th as a stray. We had taken preliminary photos of Sapphire on June 2nd after she had enjoyed an afternoon of sunshine/fresh air in our outdoor kennels .. and was being returned to her shelter kennel in time for our HSOV Kennel Techs to prepare dinner for all of the dogs. Fortunately for Sapphire, she went home with a foster family on June 12th 2025 and didn't have to spend very many days in a small floor crate/kennel. Sapphire was spayed on July 21, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. Sapphire weighs 41.2 lbs. Sapphire was adopted by her foster family on August 22, 2025. Sapphire's adoptive family dearly loved her and was heartbroken when she was returned on November 26th. Sapphire is good with children, and she is housetrained. Sapphire is not good with cats. These photos of Sapphire were taken on November 28, 2025. We look forward to taking more flattering outdoor photos of Sapphire which would show just how beautiful she really is. Sapphire would be ever so thankful to find another loving home. Update: Sapphire went home with a foster family on December 11, 2025 who plans to adopt her if all goes well. Unfortunately Sapphire was returned on December 17, 2025 because she was experiencing separation anxiety when left alone .. So Sapphire is once again looking for the perfect home.
