About Ken Aka Jack
Ken Aka Jack has been through more in two years than most dogs do in a lifetime. Born in tough conditions on the coast of Mexico, Jack learned early about hardship, but also about loveāthanks to volunteers who checked in daily, brought supplies, and built a safe place for his family. As a result, Jack is incredibly affectionate, craves human company, and is happiest pressed up against you for a cuddle, regardless of the temperature. Heās great with other dogs and gently sets the tone for puppies in the house, earning him the nickname āSweet Uncle Jack.ā His early adoption didnāt stick; after a diagnosis of hip dysplasia, Jack made the trek back to Mexico. Through it all, Surfers for Strays stayed loyalāarranging life-changing medical care and cheerleading him through surgery and recovery. Now, Jack is back to going for walks, snuggling in bed, and participating in all the daily fun at the volunteer house. Housebroken, crate-trained, polite at mealtimes, and armed with solid commands, Jack brings a smart, mellow energy to every room. He is gentle with kids, likes playdates, and would thrive with a canine companion but can do fine with regular doggy socials and human snuggle time. Jackās resilience, easy-going attitude, and deep affection make him one of those rare dogs whose companionship feels meaningful, not just easy.
