About Briella
Briella is a medium-sized, tricolor mixed-breed dog currently fostered out of San Diego, CA, but originally from Guerrero, Mexico. Life hasn’t always been easy for her—after growing up in a crowded shelter, she’s learned to be cautious around new people and places. New situations make her hang back but she never completely shuts down—she’ll inspect from a distance, gathering her courage. Once she decides you’re trustworthy, especially women, she’s the kind of dog who gives her whole heart. For men, Briella just asks for a little extra time to adjust. Briella is submissive and gentle with everyone, both people and dogs. She loves following her trusted humans around, soaking up affectionate head pets and chin scratches. Her submissive style means she never gets into scraps, even with more dominant dogs, and she shows classic puppy-like signals that help her get along. Cats are no problem—she’s content to let them be. Nights in the shelter were spent comfortably in crates, so she’s already used to that setup. Briella needs a patient, dog-savvy family who can help her build confidence and not rush her. Another friendly dog in the house would be a plus for her—she learns well by example. Her biggest dream is simply to belong. Briella does have special behavioral needs and will benefit from continued training with calm, gentle people. Fun fact: Briella is a Libra, which explains her strong desire for harmony and peace in her life. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
