About Aspen

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Aspen, an adorable soul who found his way to the kennel in 2023 after his beloved musher sadly passed away from cancer. While Aspen may initially be a bit shy, he’s like a warm cup of cocoa on a chilly day once he gets to know you! He’s a sweet fellow seeking an active family to share life’s adventures with. With plenty of youthful energy, he’s ready to hit the trails with you! Now, Aspen has a few little quirks to discuss: he’s more of a ladies' man when it comes to canine companions and prefers the company of female dogs. With the right introduction, though, he can make furry friends! Aspen is looking for a home where he can embrace both the indoors and outdoors. Adopting an adult sled dog like him is akin to welcoming a playful puppy—he will need time to adjust to household sights and sounds such as stairs, cars, and vacuum cleaners, so patience and gentle training are essential. These remarkable sled dogs are known for their high energy and require daily walks and engaging activities to prevent boredom (no couch is safe from a bored sled dog)! Staying safe is important, so Aspen will need to be on a leash or in a fenced yard until his recall training is solid. He has befriended cats in other homes, but interactions with small animals should be supervised until he’s better acquainted with them. Fun fact: Aspen is a Leo! Leos are known for their bold personalities and loyal hearts, so expect plenty of love and shine from this handsome guy. If you’re ready to embark on new adventures (and enjoy plenty of cuddles), Aspen can’t wait to meet you and find his forever home. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
