Snickers is a German Shorthaired Pointer/Husky mix with a tricolor (brown, black, & white) coat and a short coat length. He’s an adult male, about 4 years and 10 months old, and currently located in Jefferson, NH. Snickers is not yet house trained but has been neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. Because he was born on July 14, that makes him a Cancer—expect a loyal sidekick with a sensitive streak.

About Snickers

Snickers landed at our kennel in 2023 after his musher passed away, leaving him ready for a new chapter. At first, he might hang back, watching more than participating, but give him a little time and that reserve melts away. When Snickers trusts you, he’s affectionate—leaning in for attention and genuinely happy to be near his people. This guy is a bundle of energy. He’ll need someone who enjoys getting outside and is up for plenty of daily exercise, like hiking, running, or long walks. If you’re up for consistent training, Snickers could thrive at activities like skijoring or bikejoring. Since he’s a retired working sled dog, anticipate house-training as a work in progress. He’s not used to indoor triggers like stairs or vacuum cleaners, so patience will be important. Think of adopting him like bringing home an older puppy—lots of guidance and exposure to everyday things you may take for granted. Sled dogs like Snickers are known for high activity levels and need engaging exercise and mental stimulation to keep boredom (and mischief) at bay. Like most sled dogs, he’s skilled at running and is a serious flight risk, so unfenced freedom isn’t an option until he’s mastered reliable recall. He’s met cats before but only in supervised contexts, so those introductions should be managed carefully. Snickers does well with children and has the temperament to love an active family or individual who’ll invest the time and energy he deserves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
