About Snickers

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Snickers arrived in 2023 after his musher sadly passed away, and he is searching for a fresh start. At first, Snickers can be a bit shy, but once he gets comfortable, he reveals his affectionate and loving side. With his abundance of energy, he would thrive with someone who enjoys hiking, running, or long daily walks, and he could make an excellent skijoring or bikejoring partner if given the right training. Adopting a retiring sled dog like Snickers means welcoming a dog used to an outdoor, working lifestyle. Be prepared to guide him through house training and introduce him to everything from vacuums to hardwood floors. He will need plenty of daily exercise and engaging toys to keep him content indoors—without enough activity, sled dogs can become anxious and destructive. Due to their high energy and instinct to run, sled dogs like Snickers must stay on leash or in a fenced yard until they have reliable recall skills. While many former sled dogs adjust well to living with cats, it is important to closely monitor all interactions with smaller animals since their prior experience with them is limited. As a fun fact, being born on July 14th makes Snickers a Cancer—so expect a loyal companion who connects deeply with his family. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
