About Magnus
There’s a reason Magnus and his sister drew attention right away—they have that unmistakable German Shepherd presence, even as big, eager pups. Both came north from Texas, where they landed in a tough spot: just eight months old, facing euthanasia for being reactive around strangers. Now in Bridgton, ME, Magnus is gaining confidence and learning what it means to trust. He’s picking up basic cues, growing used to new faces, and building better skills with other dogs every day. Magnus is a short-coated, sable boy already weighing over 70 lbs and expected to grow more. He and Freya can be adopted together, but only by someone experienced with German Shepherds willing to work closely with a professional trainer. If adopted separately, each must go to a home with another social dog. Magnus gets along well with other dogs, cats, and is good with children. He’s house trained, vaccinated, and will be neutered prior to adoption. Adoption includes free training (class or private) in Orford, NH. Magnus has a lot of potential for the right family—one ready to help a smart, sensitive shepherd hit his stride. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
