About Toby
Click apply to start the adoption process. Toby is a spunky, affectionate Chihuahua who has overcome a challenging start. Rescued as a tiny puppy along with his mom and siblings, Toby is now almost 2 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. With his short, golden tan and apricot coat, Toby loves nothing more than belly rubs and playtime with toys and other dogs. He does best in a home with another small, playful dog and enjoys lots of interaction. Toby is not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home is a must. Please note, Toby requires a family without large dogs, no apartments, and he cannot have access to chain link fencing. Having another small and playful canine companion is non-negotiable for him to truly thrive. He is still working on his house training skills and is ready for someone willing to continue his training and provide lots of love and structure. Toby's cheerful, loving nature will shine with the right match, and he comes with a one-week home trial to make sure it's a perfect fit. As a Leo, Toby is sure to charm you with his outgoing personality—Leos are known for their playful confidence! They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Toby
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chihuahuas thrive in homes where they can be close to their humans and are well-suited to both apartments and houses, as long as they feel secure. They prefer a cozy, calm environment with moderate activity.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahuas do not require a large yard; a small, safely enclosed area is sufficient for them to exercise. Regular short walks and supervised playtime meet their needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahuas can do well with gentle, respectful children, but due to their small size, they may be better suited for homes with older kids to prevent accidental injury.
