About Toby

Toby had a rough start—he came into rescue at just a week old with his mom Tawni and four siblings after their owner could no longer keep them. Now almost 2 years old and about 15 lbs, Toby is a playful Chihuahua with a soft tan and apricot coat and a lot of affection to give. He absolutely loves belly rubs and thrives on human attention, often greeting you with excitement for playtime. Toys and other dogs are highlights for him; he shines when he’s with other small, energetic canine friends. However, Toby does not get along with cats, so a feline-free home is required. Toby needs a home with another small, playful dog—he’s happiest with a buddy of similar energy and size. Large dogs aren’t a fit, and no apartments or chain-link fencing, please. He’s still learning house training, so patience and a bit more time will help him settle into good routines. Adopters must be in the Dallas Metroplex or closely surrounding areas, and a one-week home trial is offered to make sure it’s the right match. Toby’s a great choice for someone ready to add a friendly, affectionate, and spirited companion to their home. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
