About Spike
Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Spike is a charming mixed breed male who is just over a year old and weighs between 40 and 50 lbs. He is housebroken, currently working on bell training, and is crate trained—his crate is his safe haven where he can relax anytime. While he’s doing well on a leash, he’s still a little nervous around loud noises and commotion, so a calm environment suits him best. Spike travels well in the car when in his crate but becomes anxious and may get sick on longer rides. He has a medium energy level and enjoys playtime outside with foster siblings, but inside he prefers controlled play and lots of cuddle time. Spike does not need a fenced yard but must always be on a leash while outside since he’s still a bit flighty. He is friendly with other dogs once he warms up, but he’s also happy to be the only pet soaking up all your love. Spike gets along well with cats and would be best with calm, older children (ages 10 and up) as he thrives in a peaceful home. He is gentle—never jumping up or grabbing toys—and is happiest when melting into your arms for belly rubs. With a little patience and love, Spike will blossom into a loyal walking, hiking, or Netflix buddy. He is waiting to find that special someone or family who will give him the calm, loving environment he deserves. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
