Billy Joel is a one-year-old, medium-sized mixed breed with the energy of a herd on the move. He absolutely needs a home with herding or working dog experience—this isn't optional—and you’ll need to meet him a few times before bringing him home. Billy is housebroken, crate trained, and dog friendly, but his energy borders on wild after he settles in. He’s a vocal guy who’ll sing loudly in the morning or when things change; shared-wall homes aren’t going to work for him. He does well with dogs and needs at least one in the home—no exceptions. With cats, he can coexist if the cats are calm, though rough play means supervision is still a must. He’s okay with teens or older, but Billy is terrified of men and will need patient, ongoing support to build trust over months. New people visiting? He'll need to be crated or separated. Walks are still a work in progress—think of wrangling a floppy fish. He travels nervously in the car.
