About Lobo
NOTE: LOBO IS IN TRACY, CA, WITH THE THE PEOPLE WHO RESCUED HIM FROM THE STREET. GSRSV HAS NOT MET LOBO. WE ARE LISTING LOBO ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. "Lobo" is a 60-lb, approx 1-yo neutered male GSD mix who is playful, intelligent and somewhat timid. Lobo is healthy and has already received his rabies, distemper/parvo & bordetella vaccinations. Lobo is hesitant with strangers, but by no means aggressive. He simply takes awhile to warm up to strangers. He loves being petted and massaged; then he becomes a floppy teddy bear. Lobo has yet to be observed with children since he was taken in on Feb 24. Lobo is super-friendly with other dogs. He goes right up to new dogs to greet them. He presently lives with a neutered male GSD who he gets along well with. Lobo has not been observed around cats since he was taken in. Lobo is housetrained and mostly non-destructive inside; he does like to pull the stuffing out of his dog bed, though. His foster caretaker Marcelina leaves him inside her house unrestrained along w/ her other dog when she’s away. While she’s gone, Lobo mostly lays around or will look out the window in the living room. Lobo sleeps in a crate in Marcelina’s bedroom at night and does not fuss at all while in the crate. Lobo has clearly not received much training previously and is still quite uncomfortable on a leash (he basically freezes). Marcelina is working with Lobo to get him accustomed to walking on a leash and to teach him some basic commands. Lobo has the ability to go over a six ft wood fence; he’s done this twice, but then simply laid down across the street and didn’t go anywhere. Lobo is not yet accustomed to riding in a vehicle. The one time Marcelina drove him in her car, she needed to pick him up to load him into the car and then Lobo simply curled up and didn’t move much the entire ride. Lobo loves to run around in the yard and play with toys. He will entertain himself by throwing a ball up in the air and chasing after it. He also loves to chew on a rope toy. Marcelina took Lobo in as a stray off the street in Tracy, CA. He had apparently been roaming her neighborhood for two to three weeks before she took him in (again, Feb 24). Lobo is clearly a dog who has not been used to a traditional domestic environment and is still learning a lot. He would do best with a person who has a lot of patience and is familiar with basic training techniques. Lobo is located in Tracy. His adoption fee is $150. Please contact Marcelina Blea at 209-518-7279 or linablea@gmail.com.
