About Peggy

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Miss Peggy! This senior chi-weenie gal is full of love and sass. When she's not zooming around playing with toys or dogs, you can find her somewhere sleeping under a blanket. Peggy loves her people and doesn't like to be without them. Ideally, Peggy is looking for someone who works from home since she loves being with her people so much. She's not a fan of being crated and will let you know that. While she's small, Peggy is not a good fit for apartments or shared walls since she can sing the song of her people when left alone. She loves to wrestle, chase, and snuggle with other dogs. It's strongly preferred that she goes to a home where she can have a canine companion to be besties with. She also enjoys lounging outside in the sunshine, though a fence is not required. Peggy does great on leash and loves her walks. She is house-trained and very good at letting you know when she needs to go out. Younger kids make her a bit nervous, so she should go to a home with older children or adults only. Despite being a senior, Peggy is quite fit. The only issue she had coming to the rescue was her mouth—years of improper dental care resulted in the removal of 12 teeth, but she will be good as new once she heals. Fun fact: Since Peggy was born on August 8th, she's a proud Leo—expect her to crave attention and shine wherever she goes! If you and your dog are looking for a new friend, apply to meet Peggy today! Questions about Peggy

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Chihuahuas are typically well-suited for homes with attentive owners who can provide companionship, but they often do best in quiet households without young children. They enjoy being indoors and close to their people, but they aren't ideal for apartment living if they are very vocal.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Chihuahuas do not require a large yard; they are content with daily walks and some playtime indoors or in a secure outside space. However, they should always be supervised while outside due to their small size.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Chihuahuas can be nervous around young, energetic children and are generally better suited to homes with older kids or adults who can respect their boundaries.
