Meet Peggy. She’s a senior Chihuahua with unwavering standards, an unmistakable air of authority, and the kind of sass only years of experience can bring. Peggy expects her humans to indulge her with luxuries—her absolute non-negotiable being a warm blanket and a soft bed (preferably yours, under the covers). Her routine must include frequent snacks, and no one takes food more seriously. Peggy doesn’t do well at vet visits or nail trims; she insists on a muzzle and your full emotional backing for those chores. Peggy thrives in a home where she can be the main attraction. She isn’t interested in sharing her humans with kids or cats, and will only tolerate another dog if it’s calm, older, and accepts her as boss. Peggy can be trusted unsupervised (crates are beneath her) and wants her people around most of the day—solitude is simply not her style. She can have the occasional house accident, especially if the weather is bad or a new home throws her off, but she’s generally house trained. Shared walls aren’t ideal: Peggy is not shy about vocalizing her opinions on strange sounds or delayed meals. She loves to sunbathe dramatically in a fenced yard but that’s a luxury, not a necessity. Despite her age, she’s healthy, quick to run and jump, and still full of life. Peggy has had some dental work, so keep an eye on her teeth moving forward, but her appetite is as fiery as ever.
