Spruce is an active one year old boy who was brought to the shelter when his owners could no longer take care of him. At a year old, he has a lot of energy and is looking for a family that will accept his love and give him an outlet for that energy. Spruce is easy to harness as he is looking forward to playing outside. He loves to chase balls although he hasn't quite gotten into the habit of returning them! He is eager to learn new skills although there are times when he prefers to investigate the yard on his own. Spruce lived with children and had a good relationship with them, According to his owner, he is also crate trained which helps him handle transitions to a new home. His leash skills are a bit rusty, but he is willing to learn and is treat motivated which helps in training. He is fine with other dogs but cannot be around cats. Spruce would be a wonderful addition to a family looking for an energetic and loving companion. The shelter has an appointment only policy.
