Sunshine is a 4–5-year-old hound/terrier mix (as of 7/1/25) with a resilient spirit and a bright personality. She was found chained and padlocked to a tree, left outside in all-weather with no food or shelter—yet despite her challenging past, Sunshine remains joyful and playful. She loves to run, chase, and fetch, often adding a playful, goofy twist by pretending to bring the ball back without actually releasing it. Sunshine would thrive as the only dog in a loving household where she can receive all the attention and affection she deserves. Her spirited nature and sunny personality make her a wonderful companion for someone ready to give her a fresh start. Animal Alliance does not adopt adult dogs (over 9 months old) into households with children under 9 years of age due to the risk of bites. Puppies 9 months of age or younger can be adopted into households with young children ages 4 and older. We do not adopt to families with children 3 years and younger or expectant families due to the safety risk for infants and toddlers.
