About Lady Pink
Lady Pink is the most timid member of the Apple Dumpling Gang pups. Raised on a small Texas homestead, her mother is a pinto Anatolian Shepherd and her father is a Komondor, both seasoned livestock guardian dogs. Lady Pink grew up surrounded by goats, chickens, geese, and turkeys, but her early life was shaped by a negative experience with an adult dog that left her wary and hiding under the house, rarely interacting with people. While she does well with other dogs and will eventually take treats by hand, she remains very skittish around people. Sitting still for pets takes time and patience, and despite ongoing efforts, she sees leash training as a challenge and tends to resist it. Lady Pink has a strong bark and isn’t shy about using it with strangers—dogs and people alike. She’s too petite to serve as a working livestock guardian but could potentially help oversee backyard chickens. Her ideal home would be someone home most of the day, ready to invest the patience needed to build trust slowly over time. She absolutely needs another confident dog as a mentor and companion to help show her the ropes. She’s never shown any aggression; she simply doesn’t trust readily and needs someone willing to earn her affection. If her gentle face calls out to you, fostering is also an option to see if you’re the right fit. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
