Applehead Siamese is the popular name for the traditional, old-style Siamese, a sturdier, rounder-headed cat than the long, wedge-headed Siamese in today's show rings. It echoes the pointed cats from Thailand that first reached the West in the late 1800s. Many cats called appleheads are simply pointed cats of Siamese ancestry, so looks and personality vary from cat to cat.
Expect a pale body with darker points and vivid blue eyes, plus a short coat that needs little more than an occasional brushing. Most are talkative, clever and attached to their people, and they'd rather follow you around the apartment than nap alone. Weights usually land between 8 and 14 pounds, and many live well into their teens.
