About Diamond

Meet Diamond! This brave Chihuahua has truly overcome remarkable odds. When she arrived, Diamond had an enormous hernia that left her abdominal organs outside of her body, causing us to worry for her survival. Yet, her fighting spirit shone through, and she successfully recovered from surgery, reminding all of us why second chances are so important. Now, Diamond is doing wonderfully. Sheโ€™s become a loving godmother to the puppies she was fostered with and is a charming companion to trusted humans. She walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides, plus she manages stairs with ease. To maintain her health post-surgery, she should keep her weight steady. Due to her history, she prefers a calm environment without too much excitement or many visitors, making an adults-only home ideal. Diamond wouldnโ€™t mind having another small dog to share her space with. Toys are definitely on her wish list, along with humans willing to grant her the patience she needs to adjust. Even though sheโ€™s not on any prescription medications, she does take omega-3s and joint support, and she may need a dental check-up in the next couple of years. This gentle girl is about 8 years old and weighs around 8 lbs. Sheโ€™s located in Rockville, MD. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
