About Honcho
Honcho believes the drive-thru speaker is chatting with him, responding each time with a chorus of excited little whimpers. This three-year-old neutered pit bull terrier has settled into his foster home with a family and their dog, King. He is house and crate trained, adjusts well to a workday in his crate, and knows commands like sit, wait, stay, and leave it. He enjoys car rides and thrives on a consistent routine. A true cuddler, Honcho loves to be right next to you—lying on you when you sit down, and he prefers sleeping with his family over his crate. Hand him a plush toy, and he's content. On walks, he’s an explorer who enjoys checking everything out. When he first visited the lake near his foster home, he eagerly trotted right in. Honcho pays attention to squirrels, letting them go when told. He adores people and is happiest when he’s the center of attention. However, a few important things to note: Honcho needs a home without cats. He gets along well with other dogs like King, especially if they’re calm and easygoing. While he pulls on the leash when excited by other dogs during walks, he’s well-mannered at home, eating in his crate. If another dog is present, each should have their own toys or bones. While he has only briefly met older kids, his suitability with younger children is unknown. Honcho is currently in a foster home, so visits are by appointment.
