About Izzy

Izzy sits square in the grass, tipping her head back to smile up at her human, tongue out and ears half folded as if she’s been waiting all morning for your arrival. This three-year-old girl boasts a bright white coat and pink-tipped ears, having come to the shelter after her owner passed away. She’s already familiar with home life, which shows in her behavior. House trained and friendly, Izzy loves being close to her people and thrives on affection. Treats motivate her greatly, transforming her into a quick learner eager to earn her rewards. Izzy gets along with other dogs, making her adaptable to both single-pet and multi-pet households. After waiting a little over two months for her forever home, she is ready for the next chapter of her life. That said, we don't yet know how she interacts with cats or children, so introductions should be approached gradually. To meet Izzy, we encourage scheduling an appointment for a meet-and-greet, ensuring that someone can spend quality time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 4 PM, and additional appointments may be arranged based on volunteer availability. Email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com for more details or to plan your visit.
