Laverne: The Social Director Some dogs wait for someone else to organize the fun. Laverne is not one of those dogs. Laverne has appointed herself Social Director, and she takes her responsibilities very seriously. Her daily agenda is quite ambitious. Morning: Run around the yard. Midmorning: Play with other dogs. Afternoon: Investigate the toy collection. Late afternoon: Run around the yard again, just in case something exciting happened while she wasn't looking. Evening: Begin planning tomorrow's activities. Laverne is a social, energetic girl who believes life is better when everyone participates. She loves other dogs, enjoys meeting new people, and has never understood why anyone would want to sit around when there's a perfectly good yard available for running. She is particularly enthusiastic about canine friendships. Give her some friendly dogs, a few toys, and room to play, and Laverne considers the party officially started. Her story began with a rather unfortunate change of address. Laverne and her sister were found abandoned along a highway. They appeared to have been cared for previously, but somehow ended up without a home. Fortunately, they were brought to safety, where Laverne wasted very little time making herself comfortable. New people? Wonderful. New dogs? Even better. A whole new environment to explore? Where do we begin? Laverne has already learned to come when called, although she still has plenty of other important grown-up dog skills to master. She's a high-energy girl who needs regular exercise, playtime, and people willing to keep up with her enthusiasm. Her ideal home would have a securely fenced yard, friendly canine companions, and humans who understand that an active dog needs more than a comfortable couch. Aggressive dogs, cramped apartments, and a life without room to run are definitely not on her approved list. Laverne isn't looking for someone to entertain her every minute. She's looking for people who want to enjoy life with her. After all, every great social director needs a team. And Laverne is currently accepting applications. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.
