About Monica
Meet Monica, a timid yet endearing little girl in search of a safe haven. At just 1 year old and weighing around 9 pounds, sheβs a Chihuahua mix who feels the world overwhelms her at times. Shy and skittish, Monica is slowly learning to trust, and she needs an adopter who can offer her the time and patience to feel secure. Glimpses of her playful side emerge when she senses a bit of fun, but her nerves can quickly reign. With a gentle approach and a stable routine, Monica may blossom into a more confident companion. The ideal setting for her would be a quiet, adult-only home, complete with a secure fenced yard to prevent any escape. Open doors and other potential escape routes will also need extra precautions. While she may not become your best friend overnight, Monica is certainly worth the effort. She is looking for a special person who understands that building trust takes time and who will let her grow at her own pace. Monica has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on preventatives. Since she needs a little extra consideration, her minimum adoption fee is $300, plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Letβs make her dreams come true; apply to adopt!
