About Fitz

Meet Fitz, a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs 12 pounds. This charming little gentleman may be missing one eye, but that has never dampened his spirited approach to life. Fitz begins each day with a curious heart and an endearing personality that makes him utterly irresistible. Fitz has delightful habits that will brighten your day. Before he jumps onto the couch, he takes a brief pause to gather courage, then makes the cutest leap. After waking up, he performs an adorable shimmy from head to tail, setting the mood for his day. He's become quite a fan of TV, especially when soccer is on; you’ll often find him cozily nestled next to you, cheering along. He loves to be close to his humans, whether you’re lounging at home, taking a car ride, or enjoying a sniff-filled backyard adventure. Fitz enjoys walks but doesn’t require long strolls to be satisfied. A comfy couch and a cozy bed, along with a person to cuddle, are his top priorities. He’s done exceptionally well with the large Labrador in his foster home and is friendly with everyone he meets. Fitz can be perfectly happy as your only companion, but he is also willing to share space with another respectful dog. Given his limited vision on one side, a home with older, understanding children is ideal. While he might need a bit of patience when being picked up, once in your arms, he relishes in the cuddles. Sweet and gentle, Fitz is ready to leave foster life for a loving forever family who will cherish all of his little hops and cuddles. The adoption fee is $200, plus an additional $15 for rabies registration if you reside in McLean County. Fitz has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on preventatives for fleas and heartworms. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
