About Boe

Boe is a 7-year-old English Setter who thrives in his North Texas foster home, living his best life as a loving lap dog. He was rescued from an owner in Oklahoma who could no longer care for him, along with his sister Roz and mother Cassie. Boe has adapted well to his new environment, showcasing the effects of the '3 days, 3 weeks' acclimation rule. He's gentle and friendly, showing no signs of previous trauma and ready to find his forever family. Known for being a certified sweetheart, Boe is an affectionate companion. He loves to cuddle, curling up on the couch and asking for some full-body pets. Although he enjoys being close, he is respectful; if asked, he'll move off the couch and settle at your feet. Inside the house, Boe remains calm and well-mannered, showing no destructive behavior or barking at typical household sounds. Despite spending his early years outside, Boe is learning house manners quickly. He has been crate trained and stays comfortable there for several hours at a time. He's had very few accidents, and he's making significant progress with indoor routines. Boe is also easygoing around food and toys, happily sharing with other dogs. Outdoors, his Setter spirit shines through. He spends hours enjoying the fresh air, patrolling his yard, and has even mastered a doggie door. While he has a medium prey drive, he’s not one to escape his yard easily, although curious on occasions. Boe has a calm demeanor during car rides and enjoys meeting new people, making him a sociable addition to the household. Boe is good with other dogs, particularly playful with his canine friends. While we've yet to assess his behavior around cats, his mother Cassie is cat safe, so there's hope here. He'd be an excellent choice for families new to the breed, especially if they consider adopting him and his sister Roz together. He’s eager for his next adventure, ideally in a fenced yard with room to run and play. Boe is fully vetted, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. He’s ready to share his love for a lifetime!
