About Henry Chestnut
Meet Henry Chestnut! This handsome Shepherd/Carolina Dog mix is on a quest for his forever family. Henry's journey began in a crowded city shelter, where he found himself on the euthanasia list through no fault of his own; his initial fear left him overlooked. Since joining us, Henry has shown remarkable resilience and brims with potential for the right partner. At 7.5 years young, Henry embodies medium energy perfectly. He enjoys structured walks as much as cozying up for a long nap. He has recently excelled in a premium board-and-train program, becoming an absolute star student. Henry is responsive to commands, walks beautifully on a leash, and thrives on routine. Plus, his adoption includes transition sessions to make his training seamless. Henry transitions easily in and out of his crate, which simplifies home management. However, he needs a special home where he can grow in confidence. He seeks an active, patient handler who understands dog communication and can provide the clear boundaries he needs to flourish. He requires a low-pressure environment that allows him to decompress and build trust at his own pace. Although he can live with another dog, introductions must be slow and managed very carefully. To start the adoption process for this special dog, please apply at www.gwarp.org, then text our volunteer Kerry at 646-209-4140. Ready to make a difference in Henry Chestnutβs life?
