About Henry Chesnut
Meet Henry Chesnut! This handsome Shepherd/Carolina Dog mix is ready to find his soulmate family. Henry’s journey began when he found himself on a crowded shelter’s euthanasia list. Fearful and out of options, he was rescued just in time. Now, at 7.5 years young, he radiates resilience and potential. With a smooth energy, Henry strikes the perfect balance as a medium-energy companion. He enjoys structured walks but is equally content to curl up indoors for a cozy nap once he’s had his exercise and mental stimulation. What makes Henry a great partner? He recently graduated from a premium board-and-train program, and he’s an absolute star student. Highly responsive to commands and excellent on a leash, he thrives on routine. Plus, his adoption includes transition sessions to help you step seamlessly into his established training routine. Henry is crate-trained, making home management a breeze. However, he needs a serious, confident handler who can guide him through the transition into home life. As a sensitive soul, he requires patience and understanding to decompress without pressure. His ideal home will allow him the time to acclimate, helping him to build trust over the weeks. Henry can live harmoniously with another dog, but introductions must be patient and well-managed. If you’re active and can provide clear boundaries, plus read canine body language, Henry could be the perfect fit for you. Ready to make a difference in Henry's life?
