Meet KODA! Koda is a delightful 5-month-old Husky mix, weighing in at around 27 lbs as of early October. Her mother, Alaska, is also a Husky mix, which is why Koda shares her beautiful blue eyes and striking markings. According to her rescuer, Koda is a sweetheart. She's playful, cuddly, and happy—everything you'd want in a puppy. While she has the typical energetic demeanor of her age, she's slightly calmer than her sibling, Nova. Currently in a foster home with several other dogs, Koda gets along great with them, enjoying playtime in the yard. She would thrive in a home with other dogs but can also be a happy solo companion, provided her new family can commit to her needs as she grows. Koda has shown curiosity towards local stray cats, gently barking at them from a distance. Given a proper introduction, she should adapt well to living with cats. Socialized with both men and women, Koda shows off her friendly nature. While she hasn't been around children yet, her age suggests she'll acclimate easily to a family with respectful kids. Her foster is working on leash training, and while she does just fine, she may need reminders about good walking etiquette. Koda sleeps well through the night and is content in a crate when necessary. Koda's journey began when a dedicated Puerto Rican advocate saved her and her family from a dangerous situation on a busy road. They were abandoned, yet Koda has quickly found love and comfort in her foster home. Now spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her forever home, Koda is patiently waiting to embark on her next adventure.
