Meet Koda! Koda is a delightful 5-month-old Shepherd/Husky mix, weighing around 27 lbs as of early October. Her mom, Alaska, is a Husky mix, so it’s clear where Koda gets her striking blue eyes and lovely coloring. While many Huskies are known for their high energy, Koda offers a calmer demeanor, perfect for those who admire the Husky look but prefer a more relaxed companion. This sweet puppy radiates playful energy and affection. Koda has a happy-go-lucky personality typical of her age, and she stands out as the calmer sibling amongst her pack. Currently fostered alongside several dogs, she thrives in the company of her furry friends, enjoying playtime in the yard with her mom and sister, as well as a 75 lb resident dog. Koda is good with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a playmate. However, she’s also perfectly content spending time with humans as she loves their company. Koda has shown she can coexist peacefully with cats and exhibits a relaxed attitude around them. She’s been socialized with a mix of adults and has adjusted well; while she hasn't interacted with children in her current care, her friendly nature suggests she would adapt well to a home with kids. Her foster has been diligently working on leash training, and Koda is progressing beautifully. She is completely housetrained, showing no signs of accidents indoors. At night, she sleeps soundly and is comfortable being crated when necessary. Koda’s story began with a passionate rescuer from Puerto Rico who found her and her family abandoned on a busy road. They were quickly integrated into foster care and have since blossomed. Koda is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to find her forever home.
