About George and Piper

Meet George and Piper! George is a devoted four-year-old Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix and Piper is a joyful two-year-old Pharaoh Hound/American Pitbull Terrier mix, currently in Amherst, MA. Together, they are a heartwarming study in contrast and connection. George has a quiet strength and soulful gaze, while Piper brings an infectious spark and boundless affection. George stands out with his striking tricolor coat, a towering yet gentle presence at 112 pounds. His journey from a lonely past has shaped him into a loyal companion who prefers to quietly lay at your feet while you cook or settle beside you for a cozy movie night. When he chooses to show affection, it's a moment you won't forget. Piper, at just 31 pounds, is full of life with her sleek brown coat and white chest. Once neglected, she now radiates joy and trust. Piper loves people, delights in play, and excels at cuddling. Her favorite games are keep-away, and she greets familiar faces with wiggles, hugs, and tail wags. She’s house-trained and knows commands like sit, down, and stay. While she thrives on activity, she’s also content to snooze beside someone she loves. Both are house-trained; George is leash-savvy and knows multiple commands. He thrives on predictability and appreciates gentle guidance in his routines. George takes time to bond, but once you've earned his trust, you become a lifelong friend. On the flip side, Piper is friendly with strangers, wonderful with children, and good with other dogs. She encourages George to step out of his shell while offering the companionship he needs for comfort. Given George’s sensitivity from his past experiences, he needs a calm, structured environment and a patient guardian who understands that trust is built over time. It’s essential that he has ample space to roam, think, and feel secure. While he has made remarkable emotional progress, a past incident necessitates slow introductions with new people, ensuring he feels safe. Together, George and Piper form an inseparable duo. They nap and play side by side, showing what true companionship looks like. If you've been searching for a pair of gentle souls who balance each other, look no further! Could your home be the place where George and Piper start their next chapter, together? If you're interested in adopting, please reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com for more information.
